Product Description
The only cruising guide devoted exclusively to South Carolina and Georgia, this book covers almost every body of water along the coast as far inland as it is safe to navigate. The guide includes maps, historical summaries, coastal folklore, listings of coastal marinas and their services, and tips on shoreside attractions.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Enthusiastically recommended for area boaters, whether residents or vacationers.   November 4, 2007
Now in a revised sixth edition, Cruising Guide to Costal South Carolina and Georgia is an in-depth guide to every last marina, anchorage, creek, nook, and cranny along the South Carolina and Georgia coastline. Author Clairborne Young has applied his years of experience boating in sailcraft and powerboats and personally visited every body of water referenced in this local's-eye-view guide. Maps and black-and-white photographs add a visual touch to the richly detailed descriptions sure to appeal to armchair travelers as well as boat travelers. Cruising Guide to Coastal South Carolina and Georgia is a travel guide, not a how-to guide; the reader's familiarity with principles of nautical operation and safety is presumed, and the main focus is upon the marvelous sights, sounds, and history of the South Carolina and Georgia coast. Enthusiastically recommended for area boaters, whether residents or vacationers.

1 out of 5 stars Not a Cruising Guide   June 2, 2007

This book has so little information on cruising and so much on restaurants and B&B's I cannot fathom the title. It is more of a travel guide like a Fodor's than anything that will assist you to cruise this coast in a boat. Depth information, chartlets, anchorages etc etc receive little or no mention. Who needs a B&B when cruising?

5 out of 5 stars Cruiser's MUST HAVE   January 9, 2007
Claiborne Young's cruising guides are based on FACTS and personal knowlege of the author. He provides what every cruiser should know before visiting a port or marina. Use all his guides in conjunction with other navigational aides and publications.
New SC & GA guide due out May 2007 !!
