 A bonus for the grographically impaired October 10, 2008
I purchased this Atlas for a very specific purpose: as a research aid for my eleven year old granddaughter's geography homework, which involves locating cities from particular states and generally navigating the map of the United States. I ordered the regular atlas, but was contacted by the vendor because only the large print was available. I ordered the large print and have not been disappointed. At best, maps are difficult to navigate and the larger print is a definite bonus.
The atlas features colorful, easy to read road maps of the US, Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico, 3-D elevation shading, highlighted scenic routes, tourism information, quick reference guides to mileage, etc. Spiral bound, this particular edition is oversized. Although it may be too large for carrying on road trips- smaller editions are available- for my purposes, this atlas is ideal. It is easy to navigate in-state and between-states and includes suggestions for "Fabulous Drives and Adventures" throughout the country, a page of specific tourism information, a 2 page map of the national park system, a key map and legend and an overall US map. No great expert in geography myself, I look forward to using American Map's 2009 Road Atlas long after my granddaughter moves on to other interests, a very satisfactory purchase. Luan Gaines/ 2008.

Very comprehensive map guide. huge spiral-bound book occupies much space but the content is invaluable. Buy this!
