Product Description
The fast lane is much too slow for Rachel Walsh. And Manhattan is the perfect place for a young Irish female to overdo everything. But Rachel's love of a good time is about to land her in the emergency room. It will also cost her a job and the boyfriend she adores. When her loving family hustles her back home and checks her into Ireland's answer to the Betty Ford Clinic, Rachel is hopeful. Perhaps it will be lovely?spa treatments, celebrities, that kind of thing. Instead, she finds a lot of group therapy, which leads her, against her will, to some important self-knowledge. She will also find something that all women like herself fear: a man who might actually be good for her.

Inconsistent Use of Characters? October 29, 2008 As I mention in my review of another Keyes work, I read the Sullivan books out of order, and, as a result, may have developed a slightly different sense of the characters. This may have coloured my view of this book.
I had two main complaints about this novel. First, to a great extent, the theme has been beaten to death since going into rehab became chic. If Sandra Bullock has made a motion picture about something, it is not new. (Don't get me wrong, I love her, but "edgy" she is not.)
Second, I had a hard time with the choice of character that Keyes sent to rehab. The entire time I read this book, I kept wondering to myself why Keyes didn't send the Anna character to rehab, since every time we see her in the earlier books, the girl is too stoned to function. She loses jobs, wanders off, and forgets to go to class. Then, suddenly, Rachel ends up in rehab for an entire book, and Anna goes clean in a chapter of another book (a seperate issue I cover in my review of Anna's novel). I just never quite got past the idea that Keyes sent the wrong person in; and couldn't reconcile that completely enough in my head to truly enjoy the book.
Great Book! October 13, 2008 I really REALLY enjoyed this book - and it was so well written! I can't wait to read more books by Marian Keyes.
Straight from a Girl who has Hit Rock Bottom and Climbs Her Way Back Up Top! August 26, 2008 Great book - gives an insider viewpoint on addiction and shows the mindset behind the person going through recovery - well done! This was a long book, but a very good one and I appreciated the attention to detail that Keyes shows on this sensitive topic - I am enjoying the Walsh sisters series very much.
A great read! June 21, 2008 I love Marian Keyes. I first fell upon her during my search for British Chick Lit. I started off with Lucy Sullivan...and have since read just about all of her wonderful novels. Marian Keyes has a zest for emotional humor, sometimes sad, always bringing it all to life on the page. With Rachel's Holiday Marian Keyes helps the reader find something in Rachel we can all relate to. Somehow, even with Rachel's odd and very serious situations I found myself loving her, cheering her on and laughing all the way. A great read for anytime!
It was...serious? May 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book surprised me. It had serious matter, and dealt with it well. I really enjoyed it.
