easy way to gain energy, lose weight and build muscle October 16, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was skeptical at first about a kit that promises weekly two pound weight loss in only 8 minutes a day. But, this kit does what it promises if you follow directions.
Every morning, you do a one minute warm-up, then you do 4 sets of 12 reps of two different weight lifting exercises, and finish it off with some great stretching. Every day of the week focuses on a different area of the body. You get Sundays off!
The diet included is pretty basic according to your current weight. Eat more nutritious foods, especially vegetables and less fruits, sweets, garbage food, etc. His eating reminder card is helpful at tracking what you should be eating if you can't do it on your own. I have been eating healthier, but still eat what I want in moderation.
Ever since starting this program, I have had a lot more energy and not needed my caffeine fix in the morning. In fact, this morning, I finished the workout in the time it took to brew a pot of coffee. By that time, I didn't want my coffee and had water instead. I highly recommend this kit to anyone that needs some guidance and has very little time to spare. You will not be sorry!

I like having the cards but you need to buy the book, I would not recommend this kit over the book. I have both and follow the book daily but also like having the nice cards in front of me. The book has lots of info not in this kit. Let's say it's a good but not necessary companion!
great product September 11, 2005 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
I exercise regularly and have used several different programs. With four kids and one on the way, I often have a hard time squeezing in time to spend an hour at a time working with weights. This is a great alternative if you want to stay in shape but don't want to spend hours a week working out.
I also love that there is a great variety of exercises. You won't get bored and if you do it right, you'll work up a sweat.
The cards are good quality and the directions are easy to follow. I'd recommend this program to any busy mom (or dad, or college student...etc).
Good exercise program January 22, 2005 27 out of 33 found this review helpful
I am already on the South Beach diet, so I purchased this kit to add strength training to my routine. I have been using the 8 minutes in the morning kit for two weeks now, and I already feel stronger. I like the kit a lot, because I am able to take out the cards I need for the next day and set them out with the dumbells as a visual reminder. My guess is that the book is harder to stick to. I didn't pay much attention to the CD, and the diet seems a little odd, but then again I didn't try it. I did tape a before picture and a motivational after picture in the little booklet that came with it, and that is really helpful. 8 minutes may not seem like a lot, and it really isn't, but it does add up to 48 minutes a week, which isn't too shabby. I think this program is a great easy way to fit exercise into your daily routine.

I am on week 2 of the kit, and I haven't seen any changes. I think that this program is really meant for persons who are really out of shape...I just wanted to firm up and lose maybe 5 lbs. The diet would probably be hard for people who overeat, but since I eat fairly well, I don't think it was much of a change from what I already eat.Even though I haven't lost any weight, I do plan on continuing the weight training. Haven't noticed any changes in muscle, but I definitely feel sore after some days...so it must be doing something!
