Product Description
Following the amazing success of his New York Times bestseller 8 Minutes in the Morning, America's #1 online weight loss specialist Jorge Cruise is back with a revolutionary diet book that keeps with his trademark hassle?free, time?friendly approach. It's a fact: the low?carb craze is everywhere. Although low?carb diets produce short term weight loss, the results are not sustainable. Dieticians, fitness experts, and medical publications are slowly awakening to the fact that the low?carb diet isn't the answer to weight loss nor a solution to the obesity epidemic. Jorge Cruise's The 3?Hour Diet reveals that timing is the revolutionary weight loss element that has been kept secret until now. By eating small, balanced meals every three hours you reset your body's metabolism and achieve amazing results. Eating every three hours turns off your "starvation protection mechanism" ensuring that fat is released and fat?burning muscle preserved. So get ready to lose 2 pounds each week! All with no calorie counting, no starvation, and no deprivation. Bottom line, timing will sculpt your body slim. With his now trademark easy?to?follow instructions, accessibility, and client success stories, Jorge Cruise's The 3?Hour Diet is a fluid combination of proven success and categorical innovation. Weight loss has never been easier! o For overweight people disillusioned with the low?carb craze and other fad diets that don't work or are even unhealthy. Also aimed at people with busy schedules looking to lose weight quickly and effectively, utilizing a dietary approach instead of committing to a workout regimen. o 8 Minutes in the Morning has sold 1.8K through BookScan. o The dark side of low?carb diets is only just beginning to rear its ugly head, and this book has the potential to be at the forefront of the low?carb backlash. In this book readers will find: o Why low?carb and other fad diets make you fat, and why timing is the key to sustained weight loss. o The Cruise Down Plate approach to eating that supports lean muscle development by eating your favourite foods (including candy and carbs) with no banned items and no calorie?counting. Includes frozen foods and fast food options! o How to prevent emotional eating. o A 28?Day Planner designed to promote organization and accountability for the dieter. o An all?new meal and recipe guide, that is both delicious and healthy.
Amazon.com Review Stepping around the low-fat versus low-carb debate, Jorge Cruise (Eight Minutes in the Morning) suggests that losing weight isn't in what you eat, but rather, when you eat it. The core idea behind The Three-Hour Diet is that by timing your meals and snacks every day, the pounds will come off. No restrictions, no exercise. While reality is rarely that simple, the advice offered here is nutritionally sound, emphasizing plenty of fruits and vegetables, and filling in with lean proteins, healthy fats, and just enough carbs to keep meals interesting. Following Cruises guidelines for portion control, youll eat an average of 1,400 calories per day, filling half your plate with fruits or vegetables, and dividing the other half between the rest of the food groups. Healthy meals from fast-food joints and freezer cases are included, and a substantial recipe section offers everything from a bacon and cheese omelet to rosemary lamb chops. A month-long journal is also provided, giving you space to plan each meal in advance (a key part of the diet), along with daily motivational hints and visualization exercises. A few pages cover basic exercises--but the emphasis is definitely on the diet, which Cruise asserts will work, regardless of whether you choose to work out. Cruises straightforward, no-excuses encouragement works well with the simple formula the plan is based upon, and the clever Three-Hour Plate? makes it easy to keep portion sizes in check. Still, closely monitoring meal time might seem like a challenge to some of the "busy people" for whom the program claims to be specifically designed. If counting calories or net carbs sounds dauntingbut keeping a close eye on the clock doesntyou might just find weight loss success in these pages. Jill Lightner Amazon.com exclusive content | Tired of fad diets and their lack of results? That's just how Jorge Cruise, author of The Three-Hour Diet, wants you to feel. Cruise's guidelines encourage sensible portion control and plenty of vegetables, but--perhaps more importantly--they encourage dieters to feel good about themselves by teaching self-acceptance and positive visualization. Stressing an easy-to-follow visual food plan that insists on incorporating snacks and treats into your day, he contends that carb-bashing is a highly ineffective means of maintaining a healthy weight. How can you sort out weight-loss fact from fiction? Amazon.com contributor Jill Lightner got some straight answers from Cruise. | Watch Jorge Cruise introduce The Three-Hour Diet. | Read our interview with Cruise. |

Good concept for the perpetually hungry October 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This diet book appealed to me because I'm hungry often, even with drinking lots of water. The hard part, which is explained in the text, is to keep the calories below 1500 a day. That means the 2 snacks are only 100 calories each. The routine of eating every 3 hours was fine when I didn't have to meet anyone else's schedule. This diet is worth trying because the more you try to improve eating habits, the better the chance that this one will lead to a breakthrough in your view of food.
A Bit of Effort! October 6, 2008 The book was very motivational and full of facts. Its just I wish someone would update the Scarsdale Diet. He made it so simple and easy to follow. Three meals a day worked really well when you have a family. I used to lose a pound a day as well. Somebody out there update Scarsdale nobody organized it easier. A weeks full of menus so one couldn't even think of cheating.
I had high hopes June 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am at a plateau and need to lose 10 pounds. I was hoping that this book would help since eating every 3 hours is reasonable. Nothing yet, my plateau continues and I am at week 3. Maybe I'm to anxious, but the book promises weight lose in the first week. I have a friend who purchased one of Cruise's 8 minute books and she lost 2 dress sizes, and she was not even trying to lose weight just tone. I will solider through the diet for 2 more weeks but after that, if no results then I am done.
The book has a helpful, but short frozen food purchase list for lunches and dinner. I'm not happy with the diet, but if you have more than 10 pounds to lose it will may work.
A Winner of A Diet. April 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent! Why didn't we think of this before? The idea of eating every 3 hours is awesome. Usually I can tell myself to hang on, just a short time to go. Controling your blood sugar is key. Thanks Jorge.
You Got to atleast try it........................... February 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have read so many reviews on this book. I have to tell you that you just need to give it a chance. I know that everyone out there needs to find a diet that works for them - when you find that diet you will achieve your goals. But don't cut down what many people have found to be a good one. For myself I have tried a lot of diets out there, until I finally realized that it wasn't about the diet - it was about my attitude - my making the change of life - not dieting - knowing that this is something I have to do for the rest of my life - a change in eating.... I did find it in the 3 hour diet. I don't like calling it a diet...I call it a change of the way I eat for the rest of my life. I actually haven't even finished reading the book - but I took the essentials I needed to get my new life on the way - I started my new life on Jan 15, 08 and as of Feb 18, 08 I have lost 15.6 lbs. I am not going to lie the first week was tough - I was extremely tired and hunger - but when the second week came along - it was like a whole new energy came along. I am not saying that the losing weight journey is easy by no means. But I do feel by eating what I want - it has helped. I have 92.4 lbs to still lose, but I make small monthly goals for myself which is a great reward at the end. So for all those neg people out there - just give it a chance - and for those that are out there losing .... keeping dropping those lbs.
