Product Description
Summer cartwheels and shouts, "Hip-hip-hooray! Vacation is here. Let's play, play, play."
Vibrant, sunny Summer is too busy having fun shaping sand castles, jumping in the waves, gobbling berries, and camping under a blanket of stars to do her chores. But it's not until she hikes to the top of a mountain and sees the dull, parched land below, that she realizes what she has done. Summer grabs her sprinkling can. Is she too late to make amends? Lynn Plourde's and Greg Couch's seasonal saga of Wild Child, Winter Waits, and Spring's Sprung comes full circle with this summertime celebration. Plourde's playful words capture the frolic and fun of vacations, while Couch's glowing, golden illustrations radiate off the pages to warm the hearts of children of all ages.

It's no Wild Child October 17, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This completes our set in the seasons series. Wild Child was our first experience with Plourd's books-- and by far, the best one. None of the other books seem to match up. Thus said, children and adults alike will still delight in the sing song phrasing and orginal artwork. The stories are favorites with my kids.
Summer's Vacation is a lot of Fun! August 9, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great book! The illustrations are great and the story is wonderfully written. We read this book every evening at bedtime. And when Fall comes we will be reading the Autumn book of the series.
I would wish for more seasons April 18, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was both thrilled and sad to see this fourth Couch/Plourde creation show up at my local book store. This is another lovely testiment to the wonders of nature and the importance of family. "Summer's Vacation" also hints at the responsibilities of our youth and their very apparent influence in their world. If I could, I would wish for more seasons so as not to see this beautiful collaborative team complete their circle.
