Royal Southern Yacht Club to lionize Start of Season day

With a great quality line up of regattas, championships as well as hosted events that would cement their position as one of the top Yacht Clubs in the Northern Europe in the year 2016, the Royal Southern Yacht Club, based in Hamble, has just thrown open their doors to members as well as non-members to relish the Start of Season day.

The Royal Southern is the biggest club on river Hamble bearing an ever expanding program of racing events to people of all ages – starting from youngsters in Optimists through to little keelboat as well as offshore racers. Visiting teams and members are habitual to relishing the best standards of racing as well as shoreside facilities in the world and this year would be no exception.

Chris Mansfield, the Commodore, told Plain Sailing that whatever your age and whether single or a family member, when you join the Royal Southern you need never be bored again. There is a lot to do both on and off the water and the atmosphere is terrific. They have plenty of space to accommodate everyone’s requirements, really excellent food as well as some very good beers.

On 19th March, Saturday, the Royal Southern played host to its Start of Season day, a scope to meet up and relish the fantastic facilities of the club and have some merriment. Existing as well as new members were asked to meet representatives of the Motorboat, Sailing, Cruising and Racing committees to talk about plans for the season and sign up for some events of this year.
